How It Works

With sedation dentistry, it’s not a one-size-fits-all plan that will work for all patients. Instead, we’ll talk with you and discuss the available options based on your needs before deciding on what form of sedation to use. For many, the appropriate option will be nitrous oxide, a safe gas that will reduce your stress level and help you to relax. In addition to the great results that nitrous oxide provides, it is also appealing because the effects wear off quickly and you can get back to life as usual right after your appointment. 

We understand that nitrous oxide isn’t going to be enough for all of our patients, which is why oral sedation is also available. In this case, you’ll take a pill in advance of your appointment, and the results will be more significant than when using nitrous oxide. You won’t be put under using this technique, but you’ll be quite sedated and likely unbothered by the treatments that are being completed.
